Notice the triple track to accomodate narrow gauge trains.

NovaDude, the first two paragraphs should be chiseled in stone. THAT is a real piece of hotrodding history, basically when the entire sport faced a real threat of extinction, legally. The "public opinion" mentioned, as I recall, was widely held, still, well into the 1960s when the war came along and grabbed headlines with something bigger than JDs and their hotrods! :p

Holy moley! I never knew Mary Pickford was a car freak! BUT, she had good taste, didn't she?

VERY scarce nowadays, the Premier was a well-made make, around for at least two decades, ending after 1925.

SO, this has to be a later Premier, maybe 1924 ??? What does everybody think? (Gotta be a toughie, eh?)

Mary Pickford (real name Gladys Louise Smith, b-Toronto) has to be one
of the finest human beings, advocates, role models of any century. Born
to a devoted mom and an alcoholic dad, she literally pulled herself up by
the slipper straps. (Early on, she made 50 movies in one year.) She was
the girl next door, the whore, the show girl, the wounded lover, the deli-
cate flower -- whatever the script and the director called for!

Her contributions to the film industry cannot be overstated, and IMHO it's
a shame she could not have been born ten years later. As it was, she was
the virtual queen of the silents, the apple of every director's and filmgoer's
eye, the person every young man wanted -- and whom every young female
(Fay Wray and, probably, Shirley Temple included) wanted to emulate.
Mary lived to the well-deserved age of 87. It's safe to say that a century
from now, people will recognize her name. Gosh, I'd encourage anybody
with a heart to read about this fine woman and human being better.

Mary with future husband Buddy Rogers for "My Best Girl," 1927. By then, she was 35
and didn't want to play little girls any more. She helped form the Academy of Motion
Picture Arts and Sciences, made the transition to talkies, then turned to producing, in
1933, as co-creator of the studio United Artists.
