    Might be Flxible Body in Ohio. They converted new Buicks into hearses and funeral cars. They built busses that were originally powered by Buick straight eight engines. Looks like a few Flex busses in the top pic.

    If I recall correctly, the derricks were off the coast of Portugal

    Been foolin' with the pic of the truck at #38897 but can't decipher the steering mechanism. Where did the original pic came from?.

  14. I wonder what they where using to dress the tires in those days? They sure made them shiny.

    That's what I was wondering when I first saw the pics
    We used to wipe tires with a rag socked in oil to get that shine - just don't drive the dirt roads...
    .

    AT it's peak the population swelled to over 5,000 people, that was during the Gold rush of 1906/7.

    When the Gold ran out, so did the people.
    By 1920, Rhyolite was deserted with the exception of four persons.

    Post Office and Hotel Knights about 1909. This was on State Street in Gasport. Hotel Knights later became the Hammond Hotel and the Post Office moved around the corner on Main Street. Wards Pharmacy eventually located in this building on State Street.
