Astute observation. Not enough grill, bumper, or lower windshield stainless trim showing to peg exact year but it is a '54-'56 Cadillac Series 75 limo. Quarter window shape is dead giveaway.

LOL. These exams are always fun. I always learn something didn't know, often because
the debate makes me think about points I wouldn't have otherwise! It really does
appear that the PACKARD in the dock photo is from the Patrician/400/Executive stable.
And with the bumperettes moved outward, directly under the headlights, it's a '56.
Because of the shadow, I still can't make out the V in the middle of the grille, and the
headlights look too round, to me, but you all convinced me it's a domestically made
'56 Packard, just not a Clipper (bottom rung) or Caribbean (top rung).. Somewhere from
the middle-lineup. (Note: The Executive was on a shorter wheelbase, like the Clippers.)

Here's a '55 Patrician 4DS in factory clay mockup. The '56 got a more robust
egg crate, wider-spaced bumperettes, plus the crest on the hood under the
hood ornament.

BYOB? My dad always carried several quarts of oil in his vehicles, because he said the gas stations "...charged too dam' much..." so he'd buy cases at a time at Sears or wherever. I also remember him asking the station clerk to put it in for him while getting gas.

 

I remember working at the mobil station 2:00 to 10:00 pm, I could get a case of mobil oil at hardware store for maybe 1/10th what the station charged for a quart. So Id pocket the money when I sold some oil and replace the inventory with my hardware store bought stash
