My dad was spat out through the sun roof when this one rolled.
He got lucky and only suffered broken ribs.

This is the famous S.76 Fiat racing car being built about 1910 above and finished below.

This monster had a bore and stroke of very close to 7 1/2″ x 9 27/32″

That 1729 c.i. total or 432 c.i. per cylinder which is bigger than most big V-8 engines in total. All of the details are at TheOldMotor.com

After my '57 Ford and '56 Chevy, I got a '62 Chev with a 327/340hp, 3 speed and 370 gears. That low mileage Vette motor would scream, and the poor 3 speeds would scream for mercy before they blew up.....

Next came my '55 powered by a '65 Vette 396/425hp, 4 speed. It was a clean Florida body, fiberglass front fenders. The weak link was all the countless original rears that I disinigrated.

    While I had the '55 2dr sedan, and a 327/365 4speed '57 Chevy convertible, I got this '61 Vette with 327/300 3speed.

Returning home from Maine to live in MA, I traded a '65 Chevelle conv minus its 427 4speed for this '55 conv my friend found on top of other cars in the Belchertown, MA landfill. I had my bosses brother paint it Gypsy Red/India Ivory.

I cease to be amazed at the fact that Chevrolet would have allowed a simple three speed transmission behind that 327/300 engine . I used to borrow an Impala that was running a 327 Base line with a 3spd on the collom . Darn thing was fast enough as it was from the factory , well in traffic it was . scrubba
