  1. This is now a parking lot, but the cool thing is that the brick building behind it is still there. 18th & Oak, 1951

  3. Hey, here's an abandoned '35 Cabrio at the corner of Southwest Trafficway and Roanoke Road!

Oh yeah, this photo's from 1951....

  4. How cool is this. Photo is dated 1950

  5. American Auto Parts. I'm guessing these series of photos (except for the bamblance!), all taken in 1951, were an effort to eradicate the scourge of "junk cars" from Kansas City. <grin>

  8. Sigh...all this stuff survived the WWII recycling efforts only to end up here in a few short years.

the old court house, sadly long gone.

  13. This looks a lot like the area around I-70 and Manchester. If so, that yard is STILL there! Check out the cool '33-'34 Mopar coupe on the left.

Love to know the story behind this one!

I ran across a bunch of my dad's old "art studies"
slides, mainly topless women from the 50's.

Probably can't post them here though......

  17. I also zoomed in on this one...looks like a '40 Tudor driving past this yard; wide whites and skirts. A custom project?

    1977.

The truck or the four wheeler had nothing to do with how I came up with this date.

I love old snapshots of people with their stock cars, the 'pride in ownership' shots. Nobody intentionally poses next to their modern cars like this (with good reason of course).
