I think you refer to the reference to the Nash-bodied Hudsons of '55 and '56, often referred to as "Hashes," since the Hudson stepdown body had gone the way of the dodo after the '54 model year. No, no Hudson engines installed in a '52 to '54 true Hudson, obviously. But the Hudson Hornet engine was still available for '55 Hashes ("Hudsons" in name only), probably '56 as well.

Somehow my original question (I wondered if the car in question could be a Frazer or, maybe, a "Hash") got lost. Someone else said it was, in fact, a Nash, so the allusion to the 308 engine became irrelevant.

 

Am I missing something here? Is this in danger? Man, I haven't missed a page of this thread.

That is a great looking car! certainly an early "gowjob" for sure Looks like a '23-'25 T body on an early Chevy frame with a '27 Whippet radiator and what looks like a Model A engine/trans and rear axle.....and perhaps early Chevy wheels.
