Cool Pic.! Looks like it's in the SouthWest along Ol' Route 66...
(But, I know you said these are Mich. pictures.)

  4. Here is a larger version of the place. I think it was in the UP of Michigan.

Here's one that is just about 40 miles up the road from my house. It was the oldest working gas station in the U.S. but I don't think it is now because it was out of business for several years. It has been relocated twice and it's current location is in the town of Zillah, WA. which is basically where it has always been. When they put the highway through in 1984 it had to be moved. It was not on an off ramp so it died. They moved it into Zillah a few months ago so hopefully it will revive it.

Wow, Great early pictures of Hanford and Richland. Is that the Columbia river? looks like its flooding into some crops??

I lived in Richland for a little while, (a little while too long :) )

love the 6 house styles they bulit over and over and over in that town, they say it was built darn near overnight.

Actually the top one is a P-38; the flip-up canopy and side window that slides down into the fuselage ID it. The bottom one is neither a B-17 onr a C-47, but a Douglas B-18 bomber (tail is almost the same as a C-47 but the C-47's fin extends forward at its base; the B-18's doesn't plus it has that little hinged access panel just to the right of the lady's waist).

Sigh... I dream of Jeannie... At the age I was when these were on I would have just been blob of jello around her. If I had been my age now, then, she would have to have been The Prince of Dakkar to keep this octopus away! lol :D Evil Jeannie! She wasn't bad she was just... ready to get married. ;) :D

Can you imagine being Larry Hagman and having this woman call you "Master" all... day... long... I would have had some kind of ecstatic/euphoric mental breakdown the first day on the set. Larry was a strong man. :D

    "June 14, 1923 - Hamilton Ontario -
    Barton & Birch Sts.
    - B&H 230 was
crossing Barton at Birch St bound
for Burlington on the evening of June
14, 1923 under the charge of Conductor
    George Hines and Motorman George
Cooks when it was hit by HSR 403,
    heading westbound on Barton under
the charge of conductor William Tully
    and Motorman Frank Taylor. The
    streetcar had attempted to brake,
but was unable to stop in time and
hit #230 ten feet from the rear doors.
The heavier radial car remained on
the tracks, while the lighter streetcar
    derailed and toppled over, partially
    crushing a parked jitney (unlicensed
taxi) before coming to rest against
two telegraph poles. No one was
injured, and both B&H 230 and HSR
403 were repaired and returned to
    service.
    The jitney was owned and
    driven by Gaetano Romanelli, who
had just let off a female passenger.
Russell Bryers was also in the jitney,
sitting in the back seat when the
    accident happened. Both men
    escaped without serious injuries
    when the streetcar crushed the
    roof and chassis

A 1953 photo of Franklin (now Market St.), between 6th and 7th streets in St. Louis. This photo is clear as a bell and we also have it in enlargements so you can see more detail.
