I agree. However, I knew several people who knew and had dealings with Jayne and always found her to be a really nice person. Her career was publicity driven however.

Not really ever knowing much about Jayne Mansfield, I read up on her, and her life.
Yes, the persona that Hollywood portrays, is often much different than the real person.
Was surprised to learn that she and Jimi Hendrix recorded together. She was quite a musician,
a talented pianist, and violin player. Amazingly, her I.Q. was reported to be a 163, and she
    spoke five languages.

Her goal, as quoted in the book, "Jayne Mansfield and the American Fifties":
"To feel satisfied with myself; to know that I have arrived. To be liked. To be a big personality.
The real stars are not actors or actresses. They're personalities.
The quality of making everyone stop in their tracks is what I work at."
She was named the 2nd (out of 100) top Playboy Playmates of all time according to Playboy Magazine.

Wow, that brings back some memories!
Those guys back then were truly tough, the advances in equipment design made our life's comparatively easy and safe!!
Thank you for putting that up, the history is fascinating.

    Doc.

Realized the pic. I posted was from the 80s, it did not fit into the agreed time frame, so I removed it.

    Pre-war Peugeot 202 cabriolet, what a beauty!
I've always appreciated the end of 30's Peugeot x02-series cars.
The styling is factory customized and the cars were excellent to drive compared period rivals.
