I'd never heard of this before. The Boston Molasses Disaster, 1919.

 

Does anyone have photos of the car collection at the Sutro Baths which was right next door to the Cliff House?

Tucker #1041 was on display there from the mid 50s until it closed in 1966. Seems like there should be some photos of it floating around.

 

The only two entries obviously - LOL

 

And a Vauxhall Velox next to it.

For some reason I was looking through a book on disasters in the 6th grade and came across this. I was so amazed by it that ever since I have found myself enthralled by reading about Disasters. A somewhat macabre past time.

Check out this monster that did 90 mph at the Brooklands track in England in 1909. The John Alfred Prestwich 80 degree engine, is stated to have a square bore and stroke and a massive 2714 cc volume of displacement, which works out to 165.62 c.i., and for a motorcycle is huge.
