  9. Every month we practice the "Air Raid Drill". Last I remember doing it was in 6th grade, ~1961. :eek: We had to get under those desks with the chair attached. Not much room, even for an eleven year old.

    Makes you think, What the ??? That little desk wasn't going to protect you from RADIATION :eek::eek:

    To this day when the siren goes off at the Fire Station in Hermosa Beach to mark 12 noon, I dive for a desk... :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

  15. As a kid, I loved riding on the Vista Cruisers (?). Used to ride to Santa Barbara to visit my grandmother.

    Yep!---With all the bomb shelters built back then, people didn't realize that they wouldn't do any good while trapped on the freeway!!
