Can anyone tell me what the lookout tower on the street corner is for in the center of the first picture? Traffic control?

Bring on all the Vette haters. I don't care what anyone says that is one good looking car.

Looks a LOT like my sporterized Model of 1917 Winchester!

  8. Highland Park Michigan Nash dealership. Looks like late 40s, maybe a Nash/Rambler expert can tell by the year of those cars?

  9. I'd love to have that '58 Ford convertible sitting in this lot!

Every time this picture is posted, I can't help but wonder what was going on that day on Wilshire. There is a tremendous amount of traffic and a huge amount of pedestrians on the sidewalks. Bullock's wouldn't attract that volume and it appears lighter near the Ambassador Hotel on the left out of the photo. Maybe the aftermath of a parade or something? It appears to be around '41.

With all due respect to AMC lovers,

Somebody traded that Ford vert for a new Rambler????

  20. My guess is that either a young couple traded it for a family truckster in anticipation of having a family. Or the dealer might have picked it up to use as a 'ringer'. Several dealerships I worked at did that - they'd get one or two nice cars at auction in order to draw customers onto the lot. Then they'd pull the "Jerry's Cherries" routine on them. . .
