Sorry, Redland Maggie, they are nothing like Welsh traditional costumes.

This Super Connie was a Great Aircraft,in it's day. Get you from point A to point B and back to point A safely, not as fast as Jets, but very safe and very dependable, just like a Model A Ford. Russ

Is that Marilyn Monroe holding the stuffed rabbit? And whoever approved the image should have noticed that the curly pattern on that other woman's dress makes it look like the stewardess has a tail!

  6. Looks more like the broom testers at the local broom factory having a moring tea break! ;););););)

Flew on a Super Connie 320C from Denver to Boise with a stopover in Salt Lake City in 1962. Coming back sat last seat on the tail and remember watching the exhaust pipes glow red in the dark.

  9. Relax, it was a joke, I know they aren't.

My first which became many flights on the air lines. A flight from SF to Denver in 1958, everyone in suites ,dresses, only one class (first) Free drinks, cigarettes and food. After college and the service, I spent most of my life on air lines. Thank god most of it was before the tsa.

I used to fly "standby" when I was in the Navy from Boston to Newark on the shuttle back in 67. When it got real busy they would roll out the Super Constellations. They flew a good ways right over the interstate. I swear the cars used to pass the plans shadow. :)
