Is that a Corvair with snow on the front parked just to the left of the 69 Dodge Charger? Looks like a second Corvair in the photo with the later body style as well.

    Roger Mayne photographer.
Southam Street is situated in North Kensington, London but is unrecognisable now due to slum clearance in the '60s. Teddy boys and girls were a feature of this north London area - an area of immigrant families, often of Irish decent.
Note the white paint on the rear mudguard. This is a legacy from WW11 when, due to the blackout and light restrictions, mudguards on both bikes and cars were often painted white to show up at night.
The death and injury rate on British roads soared at the beginning of the war due to these severe lighting restrictions.

" Round Tank " 250 cc BSA cycles. Registration numbers suggest that the shot was taken in Birmingham, England and being consecutive perhaps they were sisters.
One definitely dressed for the English weather, the other in a skirt perhaps more daring...or foolish. Both bikes well equiped for distance touring. Obviously enthusiasts!

And back to Blighty. Obviously England is in black and white while America is in colour.
