    --------------
Very cool pic of an early, experimental
version of the Ford V8! This is probably
    - with a few minor changes - the Flathead
V8 that Ford *should* have produced!
Having both the intake and the exhaust
ports on the inside of the 'Vee", similar
to what Cadillac, Oakland and others
did with their flathead V8's - rather
    than having the exhaust passages
going through the block and around
and between the cylinders :)eek:) and
exiting on the sides, as Ford ended up
    doing with their eventual production
V8 - would have by probably greatly
    improved exhaust flow and eliminated
    the chronic overheating problems
that Flathead Ford V8's ended up
    being somewhat notorious for. One
potential problem I can see with
    this particular engine, which could
have been solved by moving and/or
redesigning the waterpumps - is the
very close proximity of the exhaust
manifold at the front of the engine
to the belt driving the fan and the
waterpumps - which I think if used
and put into production "as is", would
    have probably resulted in extremely
    short belt life.

^^^^Looks like the exhaust still runs between #2 and 3 cylinders! But what could the solenoid looking thingy be hooked to trans-bellhousing be?

  6. I see a starter (above) and what looks to be a vacuum clutch unit (freewheeling)under the manifold. At least, that is what the Chrysler equivalent part looks like.

Yeah, vac assist for the clutch. Early 32 firewalls have an indent in for a vac canister that was associated with this clutch assist gizmo. It never reached production.

.....Photobucket is currently pizzed off at the amount of bandwidth that my account uses so they are limiting the account. An average month used to equal 200 to 300 GIGABYTES of bandwidth with 4 or 5,000,000 views. (a good amount of this was from the HAMB)

Photobucket has been applying the brakes anywhere from the 15th to the 20th of each month depending on when I hit their wall.

Once the account hits the wall all pics are restricted until the 1st of the next month irregardless of me being allegedly banned here or anywhere.

For what it's worth, I did know that the day would come when Photobucket would limit the account over excessive use of bandwidth .

    A Meteor for sure.

  21. More shots from Canada. Imagine painting olive drab on that woody in the top right photo. The half track in the 6th picture is off loading raw asbestos for processing.

  23. Lots of history in these pics. The bottom left photo must be staged, no man looks at a map! The bottom right is the first car to drive across Canada.
