Side gun blisters are pretty unmistakable.
A few of them flew well into the 1980s as fire bombers.

Any further information on this club? It would be interesting to know if any of these guys are still around and are active hot rodders.

Well, it is front of a building with a big supercharger sign on it. I think it may have come from that building.

:D Re:The photo of the AC that was said to be a Hawker. The Hawker had a "chin"type radiator.(placed under the engine)The AC in the photo in question is an early version of the P51(an A or B model) that was called the Apatche (?)Still did not have the teardrop canopy. Also maybe called the "Malcomb Hood".
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

not Apache - afaik they had same as P-51 - NACA laminar flow so wing is too thick and also tail wheel too far back and main gear is just wrong.
if not a hurricane variant maybe it's one of a few similar looking things, but the photo is entitled hawker refuelling.

The plane in the photo IS a Hawker Hurricane. The only Hurricanes with "chin" style supercharger intake were ones modified for desert conditions with an elongated intake which housed an air filter. The actual air intake is between the leading edge of the wheel wells. The early P-51A Mustang (Apache), A-36 Invader had an Allison with the intake over the engine, like the Allison powered P-40s.

While waiting for my satellite internet connection to be fixed after returning from vacation, I kept wondering how many pages behind I would be. The answer..197.
