Hey swi66, I love the shot in post#77927 of the two kids playing on the engine and trans. Taking advantage of what was available. Imagine where their "car" took them.

    :DALTERNATE CAPTION - "The late,
    but unlamented Officer Podunk was
nothing if not an utterly determined
    and single-mided man! 'Scofflaws!' he
    scowled!' 'Now that his long-awaited,
    new ACME
    ® rocket car had finally
arrived, there was no way in hell', he
    thought, 'that those young hooligan
street racers were going to ever out
run him again with their hotted-up '
    T Model Fords'!!!
    ":eek::eek::D

    afformentioned Officer Podunk

According to the book "Flying Forts" it was stated, "...the tail gunner scrambled with monkey-like quickness......"!

    Great pic! That's a rare Hurst-built
    1969 Rambler SC/Rambler. One of
    only 1,512 built - a limited production
    offshoot of AMC's late 60's-early 70's
race program - basically, a lightweight
    Rambler American body, with a
    scooped, ram-air induction fibreglass
    hood and a deliberately underrated
    315 hp 4bbl-AMC 390 V8. The cars were
built to fall into the NHRA's SS/C class
    hence the SC/Rambler name.

    ---------------------
    1969 Hurst Rambler SC/Srambler

While the major body and interior
was the same as other '69 Rambler
two door hardtops the very notable
    modifications listed made this car
    radically different than all other
    model in the series:

    • Front and rear wheel wells lips
    rolled to accommodate larger tire
    sizes and drag slicks

    • "letter box" snorkel hood scoop
    with functional "Ram Air"

    • Cold ram air induction w/vacuum
    operated metal flapper and inner/outer
    air cleaner tub assembly

    • Rear "torque links" similar to those
used on the AMX and performance
    equipped Javelins

    • 16 :1 quick ratio manual steering as
compared to 20:1 steering on other
    American non power steering cars

    • Power assisted brakes with front
    disc rather than front drums

    • Blue painted Magnum 500 styled
steel wheels with deep dish center
    caps and brushed trim rings

    • AMX 390 V-8 with 315HP and 425
    ft/lbs. Torque

    • Heavy duty 4 speed manua floor
    shift transmission (T-10) with Hurst
    competition shifter

    • 3.54 "Twin-Grip" limited slip
    differential Dana 44 rear end

    • SC Rambler/Hurst emblems on
    sides and rear sail panel

    • Black tail-lamp lenses and sail
    panel

    • Chrome hood pins with retainer
    cables

    • Thrush glass pack style mufflers
and baloney slice tipped 2" dual
    exhaust system

    • Red, white, & blue headrests
square back split bench front seats

    • Triple spoke wood grain edged
    sports steering wheel

    • Hosed clamp, steering column
    mounted Sun S635 tach

    • Left and right rear view mirrors
like those used on the '68/'69 Hurst
    Olds

This one looks like it's a NSW Australia registered little gem. I'm not a real fan of British cars normally, but this one being a 'vert and a little cute ain't so bad.
Note the 'cavernous' caravan behind - I might be able to lie down in it, but I doubt it. Ah well, perhaps not everyone is as 'average sized' as me.

    Vintage car? check
    Vintage photo? check
    Vintage girl? check
Had someone share these photos with me of a gas powered promotional car 1965 Plymouth Fury. One has a playboy bunny in the drivers seat (who can name her?) and pace car graphics. The other has another lady at the wheel and states it is from the Indy 500? Not sure who she might be? Both these cars (maybe the same car?) were made by Creative industries of Detroit, they same guys that made the charger Daytonas in 69 and superbirds in 70. Most of them went to the 1964 worlds fair in NY were Avis rental car used them on a closed track.

There is more information about these on this page of my website. http://jrcentral.com/1965plymouthfury.html

yes up until about 1908 when Ford introduced the Model T and made it LH
and after that all the other manufacturers followed.I remember seeing in the video clip of San Francisco where they drive through the streets pre earthquake with many cars both left and right steering.
However I thought that the car in the picture may have been after 1908.
