What kind of question is that? What business is it of yours or any of us here?

I was wondering myself. Isn't the only prerequisite for retirement old age?
He probably still was and nobody picked up on that, back then. Hint: look what he's about to "repair" in that collection wagon

"(Ret.)" was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. It was only a three-year enlistment

I made E5 but not for long. I got short time lol

  14. I knew several E5s that retired with 20 years in the Air Force.

The duty may have been cushy compared to other services but depending on one's career field, promotions weren't always easy to get. And I think lower turnover in the AF enlisted ranks may have had something to do with it as well.

I always tell people that I 'retired' after 4yrs in the Navy,,
truth is they wanted me to give up custody of my son,
my 1st wife left me, and I had a year left on my enlistment.
had to find someone to watch a 1 yr old for that period,
since I was stationed on a bird farm(aircraft carrier)
then when i wanted to re-up and they gave me the ultimatum,
    that's when I retired,

  18. I often wonder what became of my Fuelie Bel Air I owned while attending college in Boston in the mid thru late 60's.
Fun times with that car. I sure miss it now.
I learned a lot about the dark art of street racing with that grandma sleeper.

  19. Note the Helli arc welding around the dog house. That was done by a friend of a friend named Bill Thomas in Anaheim.
Sure could pass a lot of air thru those ports.
I learned so much with that car.

Anyone else ever own one of these sleepers?

Never owned one, but I think that is super cool! Thanks for the photos.

But speaking of sleepers, we were cruising one night in my friends '57 BA with an Isky cammed 283 and 3speed. We got our rear ends handed to us by a plain jane '57 Ford coupe that as it turned out had one of those factory blowers :)

throws right, bats right, tendency to pull to the left

  27. Same deal here. I got waxed by a mud spattered 1/4 panel crushed '59 Studebaker Lark 2 door one autumn afternoon on Route 2 (* home of the RTTA) while doing the 1 1/4 hour drive home from classes.
He decimated me by half a mile after I top ended out (G.D. gears!).

Months later, in a class at school ,a buddy of mine, and his, let the cat out of the bag when he told me the Lark was running a very built R3 Avanti power train. It hauled ass!

The google information clearly has photos intermixed of 2 different women. The one in the picture in question is Alaina Capri as stated. Some of her photos are mixed in with the photos of Erica Gavin. It was clearly assembled by someone with poor eyesight as they are obviously 2 different people.

The first Overseas incursion is when Thomas Jefferson sent the Marines into Tripoli to take out the pirates - Hence "to the shores of Tripoli" in the Marine Corps Hymn
(If I screwed any of this up I wasn't a Marine, I was USAF)
