She had the sexiest voice of any female singer of that era. I remember sitting on my bunk in the barracks in Kami Seya Japan listening to her on armed forces radio. Every time I hear Nora Jones now, I think of Julie London.


There was a disc jockey on there that was a real clown, I believe that he was the inspiration for Robin Williams character in the movie "Good Morning Viethnam". One of his memorable lines will only ring to someone who speaks a little Japanese.

And now for the baseball score

"OHIO 6 Gozaimasu nothing.

OHAYO GOMZAIMASU means Good Morning in Japanese.

I guess you had to be there to appreciate it, seemed damn funny at the time.

That was in 1960/61, many great memories. Semper FI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
