    I stayed at the Double-Tree Motel in Santa Barbara CA a few years ago while out there for a work project. The lobby had many articles from his career displayed.

    Fess Parker! Saw him host the Houston Fat Stock Show & Rodeo as a youngster. And yep...he was indeed a "big feller". He made the 20 hand horse he rode look like Shetland Pony.

    Just died about a year ago but the winery he started (before there was such a thing as " Vanity Labels) still makes (as Jerimiah used to say)..."some mighty fine wine".

    I always wondered if his real name was Fess or if that was a nickname.
