Anybody know what this engine is?

Looks like a heavy-duty water-cooled flat 6 - maybe for use in an armored vehicle?

It appears the Fulton survived the crash.

Two pictures down from the engine assembly line is a picture of one sliding into a Tucker.

Tucker designer Alex Tremulis' first car. He put in an intake setup from one of the failed 1935 Miller-Ford Indy cars, and added the Duesenberg/Cord external exhausts. At the time, he was brought in to Harley Earl's styling team to design for Oldsmobile, but at a company picnic he raced one of the bosses with a V8 (most of the other employees had 6's) and won, and promptly was told off by management that the incident was in bad taste. He lasted one month more, then went on to Briggs to design the Chrysler Thunderbolt show car...

Here is another picture of the Tucker engine, this one a Franklin O-335. Tucker first tried a Lycoming engine, then went to the Franklin.

This looks a lot like a plane the late Jim Hurtubise had. I think it was a Republic Seabee. There's a story that he caught a lot of flack back in the 60s for landing on the lake in the infield at Daytona. One version I heard was that the controllers over at the Daytona airport, off the backstretch, were thinking he had just missed the runway.

"Sterlized"? I wonder how long it was before someone had an "OH DAMN" moment?
