  1. Indybigjohn,
You are correct Kalitta Air started life as American International Airways in 1967. I believe it merged with another carrier in the mid 90's then Kalitta bought it back in 2000 and changed the name to Kalitta Air.
I was just too lazy to write everything, but since you called me on it... hahaha

  2. Bob, we posted at the same time, thanks for the additional info.

Before he fitted the 289 in it
If this and some of the other pictures you have posted are originals, it looks like you have some old Murray Publishing material. And some that were used in early Australian Custom Rodder Magazine
Or did they come from somewhere else.

    If not, close...maybe Carson

as of several years ago, they were still doing this. They's put an ad in the Los Angeles Times to have people stop by to look, take photos and they gave away carmeled corn to the kids

Gaston Chevrolet, youngest of the three Chevrolet brothers, had
plenty of reason to smile here in 1920, leading in points nationally
and having won the 1920 Indy 500. Sadly, triumph turned to tragedy
November 25 on lap 146 at Beverly Hills Speedway's tricky board
track, costing three lives, including Gaston's. His car collided with
that of Eddie O'Donnell and went out of control, flipping and landing
atop Eddie's ride. Along with the youngest Chevrolet, dead were
O'Donnell and his mechanic, Lydall Jolls. John Breshnahan, Gaston's
mechanic, was seriously injured. Folks, it was a mother of a smash-
up! Maybe, sad consolation that Gaston Chevrolet, just 28, still won
the national championship posthumously on points. Just as sadly,
though, brother Louis died broke in 1941, and middle brother Arthur
committed suicide in 1946. Many THANKS for a peek at this historical
    photo to Wired.com!

I've seen lumber delivery do the same but not when they have their load chained. If the load is chained like that one, they usually roll it off onto stickers so they can get their chains out.

Whether this pic was shot in 1939 or 1959, I don't know.
It has a timeless, classic quality! Dog 429 of West Chester,
PA, posted it over on the excellent thread, "Sitting and Rotting."
If you loved pix of classic rusting VT and have never visited the
thread, it can soak up HOURS of enjoyable time! Check it out.
