Not Ward but that's Henry Banks on the left fixing to make a demo run in the S.A.C. Fireboid turbine car 1955. Capture turb 1.JPG Capture turb 2.JPG

Can't say for sure but that would be my guess. Quite the fancy tow rig too ;)

Another fantastic vintage photo of a 1958 Desoto Firemite has surfaced.
These were gas powered with a Briggs 6B motor in the trunk.

I was just at the inlaws and found these shots interesting. Nothing Hotrod related but they are a glimpse into farm life in Saskatchewan during the war and early 50's. The small lad in the photos is my father in law. He is the one next to the restored tractor. In the pic with the model A coupe his older brother had just come home from the WWII, he is still wearing his Canadian army uniform jacket. The picture of the 36 Chevy sedan without the door has a story too. Apparently his other brother was out on a tear the night before( Saturday) and he put the car into the ditch ripping off the door. The picture is his Mom and Dad getting ready to go to church in a 1 door sedan. The pic with all the guys around the tractor just looked funny. They were probably goofy from working hard all day.

Yes, it was his rookie ride at Indy 53. I believe he broke/spun while qualifying and was dnq. 12-5-k.JPG
