The 84 has Agajanian's A on the bumper. In 1956 the owner was listed as HBT. I have no idea if that is this car or not.

Great picture of Elmer George trying to leave trenton. Three drivers managed only one survived, Eddie Sachs.

As Jim says it was entered as the H.B.T. Spl. driven by Bill Cheesebourg (dnq) 1956. The bumper does indeed look like a Aggie piece but it is listed as a Lesovsky chassis, so I really don't know what it may have been (?) Maybe Indyjcr has some insight.

  18. As the family grew our parents car got smaller. img013.jpg

  19. Doing a little upgrading to my '57 Fuelie. This was around 1965 or 1966 time img016.jpg

  20. The end results were fairly pleasing to my eyes. The trophys were bogus. I stole them form my father while my brother shot the film for me.
Dad was a diehard sports car racer in those early years.

Rootie - Is that Wally Meskowski standing next to the engine bay of the Peter Scmidt car?

No real insight but maybe some speculation. Could this actually be the ex-Aggie Kuzma that had the Studebaker engine? I don't think that Agajanian ever owned a Lesovsky car in that time period. The front axle assembly shows Conze spindles which is what Kuzma used at that time. Is it possible that Lujie completely rebuilt/updated the car for Aggie (complete with an "A" in the front bumper) so that it could be sold and changed so much on it that it was entered in 1956 as a Lesovsky? I guess I'll have to do a little more digging on this car.

And I could be wrong but this car looks very much like the car that Dick Atkins drove at Phoenix in 1965. So I guess it's possible that both of the ex-Agajanian Kuzma uprights enjoyed long racing careers?

Can't say for sure but it does look a lot like him to me.

I believe the 1965 Atkins car was the ex-Greeman Casale/Aristo Blue/Aggie Kuzma as it still had the Kuzma nose on it and it also raced at the 1956 Indy. I was thinking the same thing about Levosky reworking the Stude car and putting a different nose on it. The only good shot of the Stude car I have come across doesn't show a bumper on it, but that doesn't mean they didn't have one for it.
Near as I can tell the HBT car was a one-and-done deal. I can't find any record of it being entered in any races in 1955 or any remaining races in 1956. Kind of a puzzler. 1-12-i.JPG

Speedwrench, yes that is Wally. He built that roadster and one other (Turtle Drilling). He was much more successful with dirt cars and Sprinters.

A lot of the car ID's from the Phil Harm collection are in error. Not totally unexpected with all the years cars ran and mods made. Nice picture of Ruttman, Watson and an injured Pat Flaherty at Milwaukee.

The Schmidt Wally roadster became the Turtle Drilling car. The other roadster he built was for Bill Forbes which was wrecked in qualifying 1962. The Schmidt/Turtle car sat in a wearhouse untouched for 20+ yrs. until being found and restored. I've been trying to determine what became of the Forbes car for a long time but haven't come up with anything. I suspect it went on to supermodified land (?)
