  1. This is the intersection of Route 23 and Route 30 here in Grand Gorge
    The building still stands.

This one is the street I live on.
The bran and church both burn down, the church was rebuilt.

Is the heavy ring on the outside part of the rim some sort of bead lock? It almost looks like the rim is a little too wide for the tire.

Flower car or did Cadillac actually make a few El Camino-type pick up trucks?

  4. Dedication of Vista House, 1916. This is the western entrance to the Columbia River Gorge.
I remember going there in the 50's and 60's as a kid, usually on the way to Bonneville Dam or Multnomah Falls.
In those days it was bustling, full of tourists, postcards, curios, pennants, Kodak Film displays, smelled of fresh popcorn and poasted peanuts. You could look through numerous telescopes at the Gorge, there were sometimes mountain goats on the sheer cliffs below. It was fantastic! When I left Oregon in 1986 it was closed due to vandalism, the tourist trade vanished. What great days
those were though, great fun on a summers day when you went out for a weekend drive.
