    Los Angeles, late 40s or early 50s. My whole family was born and raised in E.L.A. and they would tell about how back in the 40s and 50s, if you were chicano and you were driving into downtown, the cops would stop you at the bridge and just basically give you a hard time and tell you to turn back.

    I'm pretty sure that is a '55 Studebaker coupe, not a Silver Hawk.

    He had two Studes over the years. I know one thing for sure , if Joe says it's a coupe then its a coupe!:)

    I first found this thread four years ago...and I have no idea what I'd do without it! A huge thanks to all of you who have contributed and posted the countless images I spend lots of time admiring and looking at all the details. Each picture is a significant contribution to history and I thank all of you (and the H.A.M.B.!) for posting and sharing!
