Vintage shots from days gone by!

Great series of shots Dad-Bud. Thanks for taking the time to post them up. Appreciated.

 

No; zoom in on the dark-colored '51 Mercury and you can see the 12" x 6" yellow license plate used beginning in '56 (the plate used from '51 through '55 would have been about 2" wider and black, like the one on the back of the Ford coupe at Pomona you posted a few photos down).

 

as long as we're on antique racers........taken at old car show,1958,dows,iowa....

 

The car behind the Merc looks a bit 55/56ish.

 

The lady wearing shorts appears to be somewhat perplexed by the machinery - the lady behind her clearly wishes she were elsewhere...

 

Third car back is a 1955 Plymouth.

 

Those Nationals had a beautiful radiator shell!

 

Holy Moly....that is quite a picture!!!....man, ...oh man!!!
