  1. I don't think the 62's were uglier. I think it was a big improvement of over the 61. A lot of people though at the time thought it was just too small.

I may be in the minority but, I kinda like the funky styling of the 61. For me it showcases the uniqueness of Mopar that it products are known for.

Memorial Day Parade, Westport, CT, 1965.

The man in the picture was not a real Indian. He was my neighbor, Ben Gaines, the coolest adult in the entire town.

One spring morning in 1967, when I was in the 9th Grade, Mr. Ben came by the bus stop where we were waiting to go to school. He asked, "Which would you guys rather do, go to school or to a baseball game?". We selected baseball, and Mr. Ben took all of us to opening day at Yankee Stadium. To my knowledge, parents never found out. Mr. Ben was a great man.

This is a gem of a place, very quiet, still kind of rustic, my wife has it on her bucket list to rent one of the cabins here.
One of the best parts about Camp Sherman is it is off the beaten path of the typical tourist trap, at least it was before I typed this.

  10. I used to go there a lot with a grade school friend who's parents had a little place there - it was an absolute blast for kids. One of our favorites was to float the Metolius with inner tubes and brooms (push off the rocks).

Big trout in the river by the bridge. A whole slice of bread in one bite. Probably can't do that anymore.

My wife and I stood on that bridge and enjoyed that very scene.

I love the Chrysler Intermediates of '62-'65. With the right power trains they were a blast at the dragstrip. As far as the size goes, there were bigger cars available, these were intermediates and I certainly had no problem double dating with plenty of room in a '63 Satellite. Some of Virgil Exner's best stuff in my opinion. Also, the Valiant/Lancer was a lot more attractive to me than the Corvair or Falcon.
