Watkins Glen 1960. Mark Donahue won the F-production class in a white Elva Courier like is in this picture. I drove one just like it while in college. Fun little automobile.

My Dad's '68 Tempest was a similar green color as the young lady's Firebird, but it was listed as "Verdoro Green" on the sticker.

Earthtone colors were popular in the late 60s. I Remember kitchen appliances, houseware, clothing, etc.............etc.............were popular in earthtone colors.

That kid is pissed that he just spent all his coins on that gift for someone else! I remember saving every cent I could get my hands on for AMT kits and paint. Remember the smell of that new kit when you first opened it? Some of mine ended up with 3 or 4 paint jobs after looking thru my hot rod magazines and getting new ideas. Great time to be a car crazy kid!!

Me too. In high school I worked at one that looked like this, and I made sure we got all the latest car kits. In this image, I can see what I had bought, like the twin T kit (loved that chopped coupe) and Li'l Coffin. Shit, I even had a dumb ass sweater like that for awhile. I bet the photo taken to use Christmas advertising, eh, given the gift wrap design? Gary

Two very well known Aussie customs from the mid to late 60's. Ron Wickham's F100 & Tony Andrews FJ Holden. Thanks Swi66 for posting. 14064022_10207487549848777_4089918737058279637_n.jpg 14079484_10207488371709323_5065865208543466298_n.jpg

    Hey Doug,
I remember those Sprouse Reitz stores too. Elmer's Hobby in Salem was the gold mine for me. '40 Ford coupe kits were $1.49 and they were black so ya didn't even have to paint 'em. But I did.
