Music sooths cows and increases milk output? So I've heard.
Or maybe cows feel at home with lots of horns around.
Anyway, here's an early experiment. (Better not be a Sousa
    march!!! LOL)

Seems to have a striking resemblance to a younger Ward Bond.
But I could be very mistaken.

Hey there, HellBoy! Yeah, I thought that looked like Abe, too. But Tennessee is a long way from Washington. So the only battlefield Abe visited WHILE a battle was in progress was during the siege of Petersburg, VA, I think 1864.

Of course, he made his speech at Gettysburg in '63, but that was after the Army of Northern Virginia had vacated Pennsylvania.

Funny think about Lookout Mountain. One historian said everybody and his brother had their picture shot there! LOL I guess we can see why, eh? What a view!

NovaDude, what was your duty assignment on the Iowa? One
m-f-in' battlewagon, eh? I wouldn't blame you if you're proud
to have served on her. Shells the weight of a VW bug. Shit.
Wouldn't wanna be in the way, if I were the enemy!

Thanks Mazooma, and Jimishemi, my draft# came up nbr 1 in 72 right after hs, so I figured I could get a job skill and serve at the same time, I learned how to type in hs, at the advice of girlfriends father, i took typing right after auto shop, i was always being told to wash my damn hands,, lol,, so in the Navy I learned keypunching, which led to key to disk, which led to operating a computer, which led to programming, which led to database administration, whew, its been my career for 33 years.

Crazy-genius, Hunter Thompson had a bit of a grudge against J. Edgar Hoover, the head of the FBI, so this poster of Hoover was a favorite target for Thompson's daily shooting "practice".....

I was fortunate enough to meet Frank Gardner on a couple of occasions. He, and many other current and past race car drivers, called the Gold Coast home. Unfortunately, he passed away just over 12 months ago. RIP.

The Valiant Charger, behind the Corvair in your first photo was also a mean beast. Tony Edmondson and John McCormack were its drivers.

The Craven A photo shows Alan Grice. He too "retired" from motor racing and is a Gold Coast resident. He ran for and was elected to Queensland State Parliament. He then lost the seat. He does the occasional race. The last time I saw him race was behind the wheel of an Aussie Ute. :)
