  1. I remember being here about 34 years ago. It was 3 days of bar hopping and site seeing Portland. We went to the falls at night. It was a clear night and the moon was almost full. There's lights pointed at the falls made a rainbow. All we needed was a naked fairy riding a unicorn to complete the fantasy experience.

  2. Cartoon reminds me of dr Seuss. The contraption would be called "The Hunter Man's Tote Toot Ta Tootaler"
    Or something like that

The first time I ever visited Oregon I landed at Troutdale to pick up another plane for a trip back to So. California.
It was late and a guy from the airport took us to Farrell's for a hamburger. December 24th 1964.

Up through the early '80s, most high school students went through at least one full semester of driver's education where they learned how to be a good driver, not just how to pass a driving test. Also, most people learned to drive in land yachts like those (I learned mostly in a '72 Ford Country Squire wagon). Because of this, most drivers had better skills and better judgment, so parking like that was no big deal (it still is to me).

  7. As long as you had power steering, it was a breeze. The visibility is actually much better from the drivers seat in those cars than most of the new cars today.

With parallel parking not being used anymore because of disappearing downtown street parking, Now at the local mall, pull in stratteling two spots at once, or using the nearest to the door handicap spot for your convienance.

Where did you get the idea parallel parking was "not being used anymore?" You need to get out more :)

    I saw that too Don.
From the way Bend had grown when I was there last, I'd bet it's less than that now.

It was even more fun with no power steering, no power breaks and a manual transmission. Oh, and toss in youth, inexperience and impatient drivers. And no right side mirror, either.
