  6. Yeah that's odd. I didn't know any of the postwar cars were titled as 45s. Have not seen that stated anywhere else.

That's normal for off highway log loads here in BC, especially at the north end of Vancouver Island in places like Port MacNeil.[/QUOTE]
Weight is for highway loads, lots of weak bridges in ETEX, Haulers are supposed to use Farm Roads whenever possible. Plenty of DPS with portable scales and ticket books to keep the load weights down.

What a co-incidence, I was at a friends' shop yesterday and he pulled the cover off an engine on the engine stand and it was a pontiac with one of these injection units! He had just found a distributor for it and was fitting it up. He said they were used in station wagons.

I think that picture should be 1971 or later. I can see an HQ parked behind the truck and they weren't released until
15th July 1971.The Buick I have looked for something similiar but can't get a match. Slab sided and also looking early 70's.

    Don't think that's a Buick. Pretty sure that'a a 1965 Olds F85/442. Though I can't explain what those porthole looking things are....

strange how it looks so small next to the Elite beyond it - will have to find out how many were about in Australia then (i can remember how hot Minor's vinyl got and don't imagine 300SLs were better ventilated ...).

You are right on the money, the 442 owner stuck the portholes on it to make a wantabe Buick. Same thing goes on today, I see them on everything from a Chrysler 300 to a shitbox rice burner with a fart can exhaust. Buick started portholes in 1949 and within a few months J.C. Whitney had fake ones so every one could have a little Buick Class.

I'm not one hundred percent positive but I think I remember two different styles, one like my photo with the two openings on the top and a different one like the vette with side opening. I remember it because in the thread somewhere on the net a guy was looking for the two top opening NOS air cleaner and was having no luck
