  1. Blackie Gejeian, an auto show and hot rod/custom legend with his first hot rod, a '26 Ford roadster, that was later turned into a show car with the very first chromed undercarriage. The roadster was awarded the title of "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" at the Oakland Grand National Roadster Show in 1955. He passed away in Sep 2016 at age 90.

I was there. There were very few "regulars" because the crowd was made up of early Dallas punks (there weren't many back then) and rockers who were curious to see the band. People like to fantasize and imagine that the club was filled wth the C&W type patrons that might have regularly been at the club, but it wasn't like that. The club was quite large and when The Sex Pistols played the club was not a very popular night spot. The only "regulars" were bartenders and barbacks.
My friend's band The Nervebreakers opened and played a pretty good set. My friend, Barry Cooda played his Les Paul with a dead fish.
The Sex Pistols came out and slopped though their first song. Sid vicious was a smacked-out mess and could barely stand up. There was a long pause while the band tried to get their act together. They played a few more songs, but Sid was just stumbling and flailing at his bass. It was a joke and the audience started to jeer at them and Johnny Rotten only hung on the mic stand and stared at them. A few guys taunted guitarist Steve Jones enough that they almost got into a fight. Sid Vicious was falling all over the stage and some punk girls were spitting at him. He eventually fell over backwards and the neck of his bass hit him in the nose and it started to bleed.
They played maby ten songs at most and then abruptly left the stage. Paul cook the drummer and Steve Jones played semi-OK, but over-all it was an amateurish mess. The fact that it was such a disorganized and amateur performance made the audience angry.
Over-all it was a joke and a rip-off. It was only memorable because it was such a joke and an over-hyped joke.
    People mostly felt ripped-off
Mostly, the audience didn't taunt and jeer at them because they were used to C&W music and disliked The Sex Pistols music. They were laughing at them and pissed-off because the guys were such a shitty band and the show was a joke. Me and my friends (most of my band) just laughed at it all.

  3. ^^^ Sounds like pretty much any punk rock venue of the time. Taunting, spitting and fighting was the norm.

When Krispy Kreme came into my area about 15 years ago, they built pretty close to Dunkin Donuts. It took an hour in line to get donuts, and everyone thought Dunkin Donuts would be put out of business. But as time passed on it ended up that KK was just a fad. Might have lasted 5 years before closing, and Dunkin Donuts has an even bigger store yet now.
