    It's a crop mark - Like the editor of a newspaper will say where the pic needs to be cropped. My brother had a lot of pics from a local newspaper offices and they were all marked like that for cropping for publication.

    "Crop mark" where the photo would be trimmed to fit for printing, usually for use in a newspaper.

    EDIT: I gotta learn to type faster. :rolleyes:

    Some more Henry Ford and very early Ford racing.

    Henry Ford and Ed ‘Spider’ Huff driving ‘Sweepstakes’, Ford’s first race car, at the Grosse Pointe Race Track, Michigan, October 1901. The Ford vehicle beat several other cars including a Winton.
