Actually, Dean had a new racer on order, but it hadn't arrived
yet. So, he headed to a race date with friend Rolf Wuetherich
in the passenger seat of the '55 Spyder. With the sun low
in the sky, a poor slob in a Ford didn't see the Porche and
pulled dead in front of it. Rolf, who survived, said Dean's
last words were, "He sees us. He's GOTTA see us!" Photo

How many of you remember going to the local pharmacy and testing your vacuum tubes so that you could repair the TV set????

When the problem was bigger... this was the next place you'd have to go.

I always loved the smell of the TV repair shop... they'd be working on some old smoking set in the back room!
