Wearable bug screen?

 

That looks like Floyd Trevis standing on the trailer. Trevis was a talented mechanic and a master race car builder. The Trevis Watson roadster "copies" had subtle differences from the originals that made for changes in setup and handling. A.J. Foyt had never driven a Watson roadster until 1963 when Bill Ansted and Shirley Murphy bought a new one for him. After practicing for several days Foyt decided that his old Trevis was the better car and ended up qualifying it. Ebb Rose ran the new car. Of course, Foyt did win with the Watson in 1964 but only after Bignotti went to Eddie Kuzma and had him modify the frame and suspension for the newer 15 inch wheels. The body was also changed. Kuzma made similar changes to the Agajanian Watson.

As for Trevis he probably doesn't get as much credit for his cars as he should. For many years Foyt's 1961 500 winner was listed as a Watson in the IMS Museum. Watson himself reportedly got them to give the credit to Trevis instead of himself. And Trevis built some exceptional sprint cars as well. They seemed to be really popular in the East.
