Uncle Louis in Maserati at Pikes Peak. He won.

Love those rear tires and missing ribs on the fronts.

  2. Another (older) view of the Boss Saloon (bottom of photo) from what I posted a few pages back - I can't imagine breathing the air in Portland everyday back then - bleh.

Was the Saab 93 imported to USA?
    What did you liked it?

  6. Bayshore Highway (aka the "Bloody Bayshore" due to the high number of head on collisions that occurred), South of San Francisco International Airport, date unknown. And approximately the same location today.

  8. That would be a supercharger, driven off the front of the engine.

I worked with a guy in the late seventies that drove a Saab, IIRC it was a 60's model, three cylinder 2 stroke, basic transportation and a mosquito fogger too.

  21. I'm not sure if they were or not - I babysat for a family who drove a Saab 96 for years

Our family is a Volvo family - we've had many, from the 122 wagon, 544 sedan, 145E (my dad still drives that one and it rolled 500,000 miles a while back). I've got a 1989 760 Turbo Wagon and a '74 VW Bus, so I'm all over the map on safety (or not).

A neighbor had a Saab when I was a kid. The car was set up for ice racing. Had an expansion chamber that could be heard a mile away !
