The car was called the 'Apache', and Rootie Kazootie & I posted pix of it a month or so ago. My memory is that it was Bud Gates' car, built from a modified Lister Corvette- and as I recall, a fast race car...it ran towards the front more than once at Elkhart Lake nationals. Jack Ensley raced it in '65 after Gates bought a Genie, and either caused or was in the middle of a big wreck at Elkhart and the car was destroyed.
