I've driven this Suburban! (Around the block at least) I used to work summers in high school and college (About 25 years ago) at a body/restoration shop and this 1935 Suburban was a car that my boss owned and restored. If I remember correctly, this picture is from a photo shoot that Chevrolet did in the early 90's for one of the new Suburban models that featured his old Suburban as well. He had a color version of this photo hanging in his shop!

He later sold it, and I just found this while Googling:

This is the Watson roadster driven by Norm Hall in the 1964 500. He was involved in the Sachs/MacDonald crash indirectly as he spun to stop to avoid the fire and backed into the inside wall. This caused a fuel leak and officials wouldn't let him restart. The year before Roger McCluskey had driven this car as the Konstant Hot Special. In 1965 Norm flipped this car on the road course at Indianapolis Raceway Park and lost the lower part of a leg after the belly pan broke away at the cockpit. Norm was an interesting character and a pretty smart guy. He had been involved in the movie business as well as the package delivery business to fund his racing. And his father, Bert Hall, had flown with the Lafayette Escadrille in WWI. Here's some info on Norm's father who was an interesting character in his own rite:

If it wasn't for the snow I was going to say Mad Max.
    Well, that and the mountains.

I love these old pics of single axle trailers and family car type tow vehicles. I have a friend who still has his early 60's 34 Chevy round tracker . He towed his single axle trailer with a 2 door 57 Ford. Today you have to have a Big Dooley crewcab 1 ton diesel to pull a 5 by 8 lawn mower trailer. How times have changed ! later Bill

I don't think I would want them to touch my car if this is the work they do! :)

One of the stooges and the speedway everyone called Einstein bought the remains after Norm flopped it over at IRP and had Van the body man convert it into a sprinter. The car ended up with Art Braithewait and is in Jackson, Michigan.

Actually no. I posted a Pic of a '63 Falcon gasser that was a modern Pic in another thread and it got yanked. Even though a guy was trying to get ideas for a build with the thread. It appears that only '65 and earlier PHOTOS are acceptable. That simplifies it.
