I haven't seen any from Portland (or at least ones I recognize as being from Portland), so I thought I'd share these from my fathers store circa 1967.

 

I have never seen lines for a rug store- what is really selling?

 

Odd as it seems, it was carpet. He used to have some pretty big sales so those pictures weren't all that unusual in that time period. I can remember as a kid unlocking the front doors when the store opened and the mad rush of customers pushing their way in. But I agree, pretty crazy for a carpet store.

 

People in Oregon are a little, ah, different. You ever been to a Sock Sale at Fred Meyer...
