I see this nearly daily and I don't see what you are complaining about. Show us specifically what is bugging you two. I don't see anything more recent than 66.

well, to be fair, early Mustangs DO qualify as pre-1966......but I've seen cars with marker lights,67 chevys, and recently, even a damn AMC HORNET in a drag car shot.....watch the backgrounds,fellas.....
Cut off here is post 1966......no crash bumpers,no marker lights,no smog pumps,no EPA....no Camaros (67) etc....
I've been quite soundly and personally railed in the past over this here, so i'll say no more....but it IS the rules of the thread......nuff said...go enjoy now......O.M.

This is one of the best threads on the 'net. It would be a real shame to see it shut down for off topic posts. Ryan has been clear about what cars and parts are off topic. In the classifieds. Where did you get the 1966 date as a cutoff? Just curious, in the general rules there isn't a date. Ryan pictured the types of cars that are forum appropriate. I don't hate Mustangs, there are a few I'd love to own. But I'm pretty sure the HAMB excludes muscle / pony cars. If I'm wrong, someone post up the rules.

Thanks, Gary Reynolds, for posting the original photo of the hot rod...

    Hey Solo,
Torrance Beach is close to just about everything in So Cal. (especially the movie-tv studios and magazine productions in L.A.) The broad expanse of cliff top beach/ocean views and wide beaches provides an excellent backdrop for photo opportunities. Over the past years, it has been used as background scenes for TV and movies, with the beach, piers, campfires, and lifeguard outposts as the main places. Those scenes can be substituted for just about any community/TV scenes that call for a beach location.

The best example is "The OC" TV show from 2003 to 2007. It is supposed to take place in Newport Beach in Orange County, but the majority of scenes take place in the South Bay region, centering on the Torrance Beach area. If you throw in enough local shots, like the Crystal Cove, Newport Harbor, Laguna Beach locales, the rest of the shows seem like they take place in Newport Beach. But, they actually take place in Torrance, Redondo, Santa Monica and the South Bay high schools & colleges. (even the huge mansions are in hillside, Malibu.)

There is nothing like imagination in "TV/Movie land." It makes for a perfect "hot rod photo opportunity"...nothing to obscure or interfere with the photos.
