    Interesting. The Bud Grimm car that Tilley was driving was probably the most successful OHV Ford powered car until Casey Luna's cars that ran with the WOO.

    In the late sixties Adamson and Wilbur Hawthorne towed out to Ascot for one of those " open " races that was really supposed to be for the local kids only, proceeded to kick ass, and left the California guys wondering what hit them.

    Ah Cool,yeah mate,I found it on a Castlereagh old pics site.Was Bob in The Shifters,because I have a pic here of my mate Jeff Dunn(Bobs son)as a kid in the same bucket I think at Castlereagh.:cool::)I remember both of those names when I used to go there as a kid myself!...:)

    I've always liked the Thomas Flyer. I had a book about this great race from New York to Paris when I was a kid, it's probably still over at Mom's someplace, I'd enjoy reading it again it's a really interesting book.

    Yes, that is Louis Chevrolet in his "open-cockpit" automobile drinking a Coca-Cola during the Atlanta National Automobile Exposition of 1909, held at the Atlanta Speedway, Atlanta, Georgia.
