    Great photo of Norm Houser at Indianapolis in 1947. There were still 1930s two man cars showing up after WWII and some of them still managed to qualify. I'm not sure of the history of this car but it had to be fairly old by race car standards in 1947.

    Eddie Hill's chassis and others didn't have a continuous upper frame rail (using the engine block to span the gap). Gerry Anderson's D/D set the record in '63, and NHRA declared the chassis illegal. Gerry Anderson.jpg
