    Dog427435 and LowKat:
I appreciate the solid contributions both you guys have made to this thread, and many others too, but you two in particular.
Would you guys like to just jot down a few words saying how you have amassed such a great and varied selection of pics?
I for one would like to hear.
    Thanks,
    Mart.

I have always been fascinated with the old street scenes. They are like old movies, each time you view them you might find a new object or a background scene you didn’t notice before. Loving the old cars as I do, there is always something to catch your eye!
Growing up in this era, to me, it’s a walk down Memory Lane. (Anyone remember Joe Franklin?)
I started taking these shots myself in the fifties, in the last twenty years or so I’ve been buying lots of photographs at garage or estate sales or in the thousands of antique marts all over Pennsylvania.
In the last few years the abundance of shots on the net always keeps me busy. I rarely watch TV, I’m surfing the net looking for interesting pictures!
I enjoy the appreciation everyone has shown for what I’ve posted – I’ve got thousands more – stay tuned!:)

Glenn...they are all terrific...thanks for all of them!
They make me happy to be reminded of growing up in the 1950's and sad that much of it has slipped away. Doug

My older brother and I rode these back when they were gas powered in the early 70's, if you floored the gas pedal it had pretty good pick up for a few feet then the governor kicked in and back in those days it was a long dark track by the parking lot. One night we were coming back from the beach and stopped to ride them. Being teenagers (him 17 me 16) the attendent sent us down ( of course my brother stopped and waited for me) and we were running into each other and then got the bumpers lock and one car off the track couldn't move. A few more cars came down and a traffic jam up was going pretty good. Some other guys got out of their cars and were trying to untangle them and we were just laughing and said let's get out of here, so we jumped the fence and split . I'll bet the ride attendent must have been scratching his head wondering why cars were going down but nothing coming back. Great times back then.

On the right there is Schwabs Drug Store. They say that's where Lana Turner was discovered.

Lots of beautiful cars and beautiful women but I don't remember seeing one flat black hot rod or a woman with even one tatoo....I'm just saying.
