  1. I wonder if the little roadster was pedal powered or motorized. Custom built or factory made? So much detail. Must have cost a mint.

That is almost funny if Mary Jo Kopechne hadn't died.

If anybody would like to put those to photos of Fort Smith together like I tried to and couldn't, I would appreciate it. It is interesting how little it has actually changed.

The Singer name badge was still used on cars, after being absorbed into Rootes, but the base body was also marketed as a Hillman or Humber or Sunbeam. A change of grille, tailight assembly and trim were the defining factors.

A Singer Vogue in the UK was a Humber Vogue in Australia. A Singer Gazelle was marketed in Australia, but it became a Hillman Gazelle later in its life cycle.

Then Rootes was acquired by Chrysler UK.

The Berlin Flak Towers of WW2.

There were three towers in triangulation to cover Berlin from Allied bombing. The armaments included 105mm guns which were replaced with 128mm guns. Shells could reach to heights of 15,000 meters (app. 50,000 ft).
The Zoo Garden Tower also provided shelter for 15,000 civilians during air raids.
There was 25km (15mile) of underground tunnels.

They were to be destroyed by the Allies after Berlin was captured.
