Hard to tell which car was used in this photo, the spec sheet says four speed but that's a day two Hurst "Yo Yo" shifter replacing the factory "spaghetti" shifter.
The article says M/T specifies his cars with a three speed transmission, wonder how long before he swapped the column shift for a Hurst Syncro-Loc.

If I remember correctly, This lakster had a DOHC Pontiac Tempest four cylinder. Home made head. I thought the motor was really cool. FWD lakester a little odd looking to me.[IMG]

I found a pdf on the Pontiac zone site which talks about this car a bit - the link is ugly looking - I hope it works https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwje0dzgptffAhVEXawKHQf7Cw4Q5TV6BAgBEAs&url=http://www.pontiaczone.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=29249&d=1505967184&psig=AOvVaw08g1Y3XVN6diCoGhsgH6p2&ust=1546800077996514
