Rootie, is there any background information on this supermodified? It looks like it might have originally been an Indy roadster.

I don't know, the only info I have is its from 1948.

 

It's pretty much a mystery to me. All I know is that it was raced by Jim Edwards out of Wash. state in the mid 60s and I have to believe it was a Champ car at one time too. The wheel base looks Champ car size and it appears to have the starter hole in the nose. Being a right side offset really narrows it down but I have yet to find a pic of a roadster from that period that matches the nose/bodywork, torsion bars etc. so...……..?

nice afternoon at Kent. Here we see Bill Hartman's huffed Pontiac-powered T (later to become Jerry Goddard's first out-and-out racecar) out on Paul Shagar's Harris-chassied Fiat, powered by a blown Chevy in a AA/A class run-off.
