You know showing pictures of people smoking is not suitable for children these days...I'm not joking, I wish I were.

I'm the youngest of 6. I remember my mom cooking on a wood stove, making clothes, slaughtering chickens for dinner, churning butter from cows she milked, and making lie soap to name a few. Was life really simpler?...YES!

Who was worried about safety back then:

This was the most elaborate Atomic Energy educational set ever produced, but it was only only available from 1951 to 1952. Its relatively high price for the time ($50.00) and its sophistication were the explanation Gilbert gave for the set's short lifespan. Today, it is so highly prized by collectors that a complete set can go for more than 100 times the original price.

Note the Yellow Japanese tin Corvair Rampside in the picture.
It is the Coca Cola version of that toy.
    worth about $600 now..............

Original Aluminum trees like that are worth a few bucks too!

Gee, I still have that yellow dash board toy, and in the lower right that is a motorized Japanese Tin Thunderbird convertible, has a wire and controller with a steering wheel on the controller. Pull out the tailpipe and the convertible top will go up and down. I still have mine!

    LUXURY!!!!

we had 8 kids living in a shoebox in the middle of the road.
My dad woke up every morning 20 minutes before he went to bed so he could work his three jobs.
Of the 8 kids only 4 of us could go out at a time because thats all the clothes we had.

    Man those were good times.
