Vintage shots from days gone by!

1922 Mitchell I think from an earlier post, but this is White Streak No 1 with a sealed hood for 10,000 miles. Taken at the Wolfley Auto Co Garage and Sinclair Filling Station.
Gas was 13 !/2 cents it looks like.
Cars no 62 and No 54 are next in line. The garage sold Mitchell Cars as painted over the windows on the right side. F-50 Mitchell "No Motor Adjustments or Repairs of any Kind are Possible" is written above the running boards.

This is in Hiawatha Kansas where my Grandfather had a Phillips 66 staion from 1925 on to the 50's. He may be in this picture as he started at a Sinclair or a Standard station.

I have faced down a few bushfires, with modern equipment a good water supply and still it can be a frightening thin when flames can reach 300ft over your head.
I couldn't imagine the courage these men have in fighting one with just gum tree branches. These are true men!
