Man, I'm drawing a blank... (Roy has my mind spent!) but, back to my question. Didn't Bigelow hold a BIG USAC record forever.. like most wins in a season.. or career. It just fell a couple years back.

He was a stud either way!

Yep, give the man a cigar. Drove it at Limerock in a midget/sports car show.

These are out of a couple photo albums with photos dating between 1923 and 1938. I'm sure they belonged to a fellow named Kenneth Bowman.

Reading this thread has jolted me from being a lurker to being a poster. This is a really amazing thread. I am into vintage open wheel oval track cars in a big way. I also love traditional rods,so this is the best.
I just met the guy who has the 44c roadster thru my open wheeling and he told me to join up.

Josh, that is Jimmy Davies in Vince Conze's car (the Bopper will be disapointed in you as they were good friends) Al Unser won Pikes Peak in that car in 1964. Here is a little info on Vince Conze

I`m the guy who did those pictures of Jud Larson(I`m millerracers2000 on flickr) I did this stuff to post on the Williams Grove racing in the Past discussion board. I`m glad you guys over here like this stuff.
We just had a thread where we talked about the night at Williams Grove in 1970 or 1971 where Danny Caruthers won the USAC Midget race. He ran that thing harder than anyone I`ve ever seen at the Grove. Some of the others who where there that nite say the same thing. The Kid was on the Hammer.

There is my art from that nite-That kid was awesome!!!!!!!

Are you Danny`s and Jimmy`s cousin? My Uncle Jerry Karl raced with Jimmy from 1970-1975 in Indy cars.

Uncle Jerry Karl and My Dad Tony De Seta Sr were sprint car guys back in 1966.
I`m on the racing history at yahoo board also.
If I figure out how to insert images over here,I`ll contribute to this thread.

This is my photostream for anyone here who wants to check out my stuff. I did a bunch of open wheel racing cars in 1/87 scale-I have a set of photos of them on there, too.

One cool thing about looking at them on my photostream is you can see them in my original size. Warning for dial up users, some of the files are large!

Hey Roo, I thought so, that place is the coolest shop I have ever been to. I went there with Tom Bigelow and got the tour, and his back shop, the stuff in there drove me crazy, he had the only red Daytona Coupe there at that time......

    ZomBrian.. GREAT STUFF!!

    Welcome "Buildy"

Roy, (Racer5c).. Now, don't be going and getting Bopper mad at me! I seen that guy in action.. (Or at least his reputation in action)
I was helping Joey Kerr and Carl Cruse out at Lawrence burg one night in Boppers car.. It was a USAC race and we were cutting it close on getting the car ready for the heat. A Fully dressed USAC official came up on a four wheeler and yelled, "If you guys dont have that THING in the line up shoot in 30 sec were rollin out without you!" Well, Bopper (Sitting on a four wheeler) real non chalantly said, "YOU ASSHOLES AINT GONNA DO SHIT WITHOUT MY CAR" We all looked up cause you kinda don't talk to USAC guys like that. So the USAC Official Starts to get off his four wheeler all pissed and makes it about one step torward Bopper when some Old timer in another USAC shirt grabbed him and said, "Hold up there buddy.. " He pulled him over out of our ear shot and did a bunch of "explaining and story tellin and pointing at Bopper" At which point the Guy got back on his four wheeler and said, "Try to hurry guys" and HAULED ASS! Bopper just sat there and smiled and I knew right then and there I didn't ever wanna get on that guys bad side.
I said hi to Bopper saturday at the Indy swap meet. He was sitting talking shop with Tony Elliot. Great old Guy.. I hope they right a book about him someday. The drivers he's worked with alone is unreal..

Thanks. In of the action pictures, You'll notice one says "1935" at the top and "Louis Meyer" at the bottom. The car is "36". Louis ran that car two years earlier at the 500 and won! The year this picture was taken, he placed fifth. I'm not sure if this was a 500 shot, though there are some photos from Indy in the album. Another picture from that "series" says Mauri Rose. That year at Indy he finished 20th. That's all I found out so far. If you guys know anything or could help, it's welcomed.
