Well guys.. I have some Pictures to share with ya, but there not in the best "form". These were in a crate of Hundreds of Stock car pictures from TRI-COUNTY SPEEDWAY. They are obviously Proof sheets, and unfortunately there small, and at all different angles. But, if your REALLY into them.. Right click "Save Copy" and save them to your computer. Then rotate them, crop them, and zoom in all you want. The back of each one says "A.S.A. Sprints 4/29/73" So... almost 37 years to the day later... Here they are.

The 92 is indeed Greg Weld in his offset super roadster that he won the 1963 Knoxville Nationals with. Cage was removed to run IMCA shows this was before Greg went USAC.

    Rootie,

I can`t see any cooling louvers on the car-maybe that is some kind of engine heat vent?

I also want to send my best wishes for one of my heroes in photography,Ken Coles!

.....'Even though I never realized who the guy was until long after he had snapped some of the most famous images in racing history, I am a huge admirer of Ken Coles and his work.

Spike, looks like neither to me. Neumeyer was taller, Mathouser had a rounder face.

That's a "Dip pod" for his feet. It seems wierd, but the Pop Dryer car that Mark Bowles just had finished has them ans well as his Midget. You see them in Midgets way more due to the tight clearances.

The one in your picture has a weird shadow or dirt line on it that makes it appear to be sticking out sideways, but my guess is: "Foot drop"

"HELL NO I aint cuttin' my nice engine turned dash up for you long legged drivers, I'll beat a dent in the belly pan instead" :D

Got this from Ken Coles son Larry on the 5th of this month

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to send an update out on Ken. I was up in Michigan a little over a week ago to visit him at the time in U of M hospital. The day after I got up there he was moved to Caretel, a convalescent home in Brighton Michigan. At the time there wasn't much improvement in his condition. He did recognize me being there and that had changed from the day I got there. Since then he has shown some signs of improvement as the staff has worked with him to get him involved in his therapy. It appears that it is going to be a long road to recovery. Any future cards can be sent to their home address.which is:

    473 Fairwood
    Pinckney, MI 48169

    Thanks
    Larry

Makes sense, Veith was a big ol' boy.

Sure, it was just a suggestion to inquire at this site about the Thomas car. Quite a bit of N/W history there.

  19. The Mike Sweeney/Bromme Sprinter from the early 80's is for sale. The other piece of the Thompson/Sweeney wars from Ascot. These pics are recent, and it is in great shape.

Also the Jimmy Oskie Bromme sprinter is part of the package.

Excuse if this is a repost..The entire Burn Em Up Barnes series, all 12 chapters can be watched if you have all afternoon. Great period footage, just don't expect a serious story line.

The rear hairpins and white nose look CAE-ish. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it was 60s CAE or one built off of their prints (bunches of those done back in the day)
JMO, but if it were mine, and I was going to run it, I would, at very least, blow the I/O box and Q/C apart and check them out. Paying close attention to the pinion support for cracks. No sense taking a chance on lunching those parts.
